Creative military designs by Hillview pupils
The fashion and textile pupils at Hillview School have created military themed designs influenced by British Army uniforms. These were on display at the entrance of Angel Walk during the British Legion Busking day in Tonbridge High Street.
A number of pupils were modelling the creative items in the town to help collect donations for the Royal British Legion. Well done girls!!!!

Tonbridge Daily Photo
| Tonbridge Daily Photo #301- Singer Collette Redgrave and Poppy |
I've heard there will be a troupe of belly dancers performing in the town, Superhero characters to say hi to the children and even RBL Cadets to do your packing at the tills in Sainsbury. Every day something new is on the agenda. So this is a day not to be missed.
Out of respect and remembrance The Last Post will played at 10pm to close this fun day of busking for Royal British Legion.

Busking For The British Legion
| Singer Collette Redgrave and organisers |
Collette Redgrave and others sung a few numbers in the sunshine delighting Tonbridge shoppers during a soundcheck this week for the fast approaching 'Busking For The British Legion'.

Everything went singingly well, sound levels were given the ok and so there's going to be something to look forward to in Tonbridge on Saturday 28 September. The High Street will be filled with buskers for the whole day from 10am to 10pm. It's a free music event but donations will be gratefully received for the Royal British Legion (Poppy Appeal) and the Tonbridge Memorial Gardens. So look out for the big red buckets about town.

Armed Forces Day Service
It was Armed Forces Day yesterday and people across the country were involved in community events to raise public
awareness of the contribution made by those who serve, and
have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.
The Tonbridge Branch of The Royal British Legion hosted a Service of Praise, Thanksgiving and Remembrance at St Stephens Church. The poignant service was attended by TMBC Mayor, Cllr Dave Davies and prayers were led by The Reverend Mark Barker.
Gp Capt Patrick Tootal OBE, DL Chairman of the Trustees of Tonbridge Memorial Gardens Trust recited Psalm 100 to a silent congregation, and Rachel Lucas, Chairman of the Women's Section of the Tonbridge Branch of the RBL read lines from Matthew 18. After the Last Post and a recital of the Burma Star Epitaph, The Standards lead the Ministers and Mayoral party out of the church and into the sunshine of the gardens.
The service was followed by a reception lunch at The RBL Club for all those who attended.
