ReplyDeleteThankyou Carl for posting the website.
ReplyDeleteMy Great Grandfather died alongside Arthur Lucas on the same ship. Do you know who put the poppy next to his name, as I laid the cross and would like to let the individual know about the website, as it has brought many family members together.
ReplyDeleteI arrived at the Memorial Gardens after the wreath laying ceremony and therefore I have no idea who left the tribute. The single poppy placed high on the stone incriptions next to A Lucas was a poignant sight, and for this reason I felt it had to be photographed. Maybe the person who laid the poppy will come across the blog. I wish I could be more helpful. If you wish I can send copies of the photographs to you.
