What a Mess!!

I always try to focus on the positive aspects of our town as Tonbridge does actually have a lot going for it.  We have a beautiful stretch of the Medway that is the living spine of the town, and our very own Norman Castle steeped in history.  Behind the scenes there are clubs, societies and individuals who silently work for the community and make Tonbridge a really good place to live. However there are always those cases where some deliberate act of vandalism spoils our surroundings.

Woodlands Walk Stream

Today I received a photograph sent by a resident, who had this morning, spotted the contents of all the dog litter bins emptied into the Woodlands Walk stream.  He wrote ' Not only is it messy and polluting, but some poor guy from the council has now got to clean it up!!!!'

Does it make you as mad as it does me?

  1. It is awful! Do you know if the Council are aware? I will let Tamsin know.

If anyone else feels bad about litter in general in Tonbridge then look out for Bash the Trash events. You can see some here when organised http://lovewhereyoulive.org/find-places-and-events/map-results.aspx?searchKey=Tonbridge

  2. Thanks Paul - please do let Tamsin know as I am not sure the Council are aware.

  3. I've e-mailed this morning. She's out of the office but her boss is looking after e-mails.
Incidentally, I hope to be arranging a Bash the Trash event for May - just trying to co-ordinate with Sarah Spence, TMBC Councillor. Will log on Love Where You Live website when arranged.

  4. Phoned the council as a resident alerted us to it and our photographer got some snaps of workers cleaning it up yesterday.
