This is one of my favourite parts of the river in town. I also believe this is where the Achilles sunk. Has it been brought up to the surface or is it still on the river bed?
In your first picture, you can see something small jutting out of the water to the left of the narrowboat, underneath the 'Y' shaped tree. As far as I know, that is where the Achilles still is.
