Tonbridge Daily Snippet

A six hour snowstorm hit Tonbridge in April 1950 causing devastation in the town and surrounding areas due to tree and telegraph pole falls.

Enjoy the spring mini heatwave and sunshine ... it could all change.

I remember when my son started school after the Easter break in 1978 it was snowing. In those days boys under 7yrs had to wear short trousers, and they all had bright red knees peeping out between their trousers and the tops of their wellies! The girls were luckier as they could wear thick tights.
