Recognising Tonbridge architectural feature |
Ferox Hall Tonbridge School |
A fast succession of correct answers came in as soon as this Recognising Tonbridge was posted, together with memories of a reader's visit to the kitchens at Ferox Hall where his grandmother worked, and vague memories of a fire in the building started by a workman's blow torch. Does anyone know about this mishap?
Ferox Hall stands on the corner of Bordyke and The High Street and is a Tonbridge School house. The boarders annexe is connected. The building has a Georgian facade, a porch with Doric columns and a canopy with a triglyph frieze and projecting corner. The Recognising Tonbridge image was a close up on this detail.
Ferox Hall a Grade II listed building.
